INSPIRING! REWARDING! FUN! MAMA-FRIENDLY! SEASONAL!

Utah Moms for Clean Air is in the process of launching a FOUR SEASONS approach, which will highlight different “clean-up the air” activities specific to each season. For example, in the Fall, we will focus on our back-to-school idle-free campaign and in the Winter, during inversion season, we will focus on legislative action and bringing families up to Capitol Hill to have their voices heard. In the Spring, we will focus on spring cleaning — in other words how to make simple adjustments in your own life and community that will have a positive impact on our air quality. In the summer, we unfortunately suffer regularily from high levels of ozone, so during these months we will highlight how to still enjoy the sunshine, but also protect yourself and your family from this harmful pollutant.

We are currently recruiting volunteers to help launch this FOUR SEASONS campaign. Since we are still incubating ideas this is a great time to get involved and make a difference.

Utah Moms for Clean Air will, of course, continue to remain on high alert for situations, political leaders, government agencies and/or corporations that are engaging in actions that are counterproductive to clean air, and we will respond quickly, boldly and publicly to defend our children from those actions. We are always seeking passionate citizens who want to stand-up for clean air and make some noise!!

In addition to the above, Utah Moms for Clean Air is seeking the following:

• Researchers/Writers
• Bloggers
• Web administrators and developers
• Photographers
• Grant-writers
• Graphic Artists

Volunteer energy — and especially mom energy — is what makes Utah Moms for Clean Air a political force to be contended with and thus we love to support our volunteers in a number of ways including:

• Providing free childcare at meetings and/or reimbursement for childcare
• Professional development classes at the Utah Non-Profits Association
• Volunteer Recognition Awards

Overall, our goal is to protect the airshed in which we all live, work and play in, but in the process of doing so, we feel it is very important that the work we do is INSPIRING, FUN, MAMA-FRIENDLY, and REWARDING.
