Deadline Monday: Stop Coal Pollution in the Four Corners
The San Juan coal-fired power plant located in Farmington, NM – less than 50 miles from the Four Corners – is a major source of nitrogen oxide (NOx) pollution, creating smog and threats to public health in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Utah.
The EPA has recently proposed new rules to reduce San Juan’s NOx pollution by 83% – a significant step against this harmful air pollution.
The EPA is accepting public comments on the plan until Monday, April 4th. Power plant officials are predictably raising pressure on EPA officials to weaken the rules. We can’t let that happen.
I just submitted a comment in support of EPA’s plan. You can submit a public comment here and help reduce coal pollution in the Four Corners.
